Overview In this Principal Project Manager role, you will lead delivery on mid- to large-scale renewable energy projects, focusing on construction. You’ll manage multi-disciplinary design and site construction, safeguard budget and schedule, and sustain client relationships across the UK, Ireland, and broader EMEA. You’ll shape project governance, oversee procurement and contract administration, and mentor junior staff. This is a hands-on, client-facing position that drives execution from feasibility through to completion. You’ll join a global team delivering impactful energy infrastructure and growth across markets.

Responsibilities - Lead project delivery on mid- to large-scale renewable energy projects with emphasis on construction phase
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary design and construction of renewable energy infrastructure
- Manage day-to-day client liaison and ensure delivery within requirements, timescales, and budgets
- Support procurement including Employer’s Requirements and contract documentation (NEC/FIDIC/JCT/bespoke)
- Administer and manage contracts including technology supply agreements
- Oversee governance, reporting, and invoicing for projects, ensuring alignment with contract
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to proposals and quality control reviews
- Assist with project deliverables review and overall performance monitoring
Key requirements - BEng (Hons) in Engineering or Diploma in Project Management
- Experience leading construction-phase project management in energy sector
- Background in design, procurement, and construction for grid-connected projects
- Experience with onshore wind, Solar PV, and hydroelectric projects (run-of-river and pumped storage)
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage budgets and programmes
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships and manage underperformance on contracts
