Responsibilities - Oversee planning and delivery of complex temporary works and structural packages from concept to completion
- Develop delivery strategies to meet programme, quality, safety and commercial goals
- Lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, construction and heritage
- Coordinate temporary works designers, engineers, consultants and subcontractors
- Challenge engineering proposals for robustness and buildability
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and procedures for temporary works
- Manage site delivery through detailed planning and sequencing of installation works
- Monitor performance of contractors and subcontractors across multiple fronts
- Promote safe systems of work and proper temporary works procedures
- Track progress, identify risks and implement mitigations to protect milestones
- Ensure construction aligns with approved designs, specs and quality standards
- Collaborate with conservation specialists to protect historic fabric
- Interface with client, principal contractor, consultants, Historic England and stakeholders
- Chair project and stakeholder meetings and provide progress updates
- Prepare reports on progress, risks and issues for senior leadership
- Drive solutions to technical and operational challenges throughout construction
Key requirements - Proven experience as Project Manager / Senior Project Manager in complex construction or engineering
- Strong track record managing temporary works and structural packages
- Experience with scaffolding, temporary steel, support structures or similar temporary works
- Understanding of engineering coordination, sequencing and site delivery
- Experience managing specialist contractors and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong technical and commercial awareness to manage programme and risks
- Excellent stakeholder management across clients, consultants, contractors and specialists
- Experience in technically challenging, live or sensitive environments
- Strong knowledge of health & safety, temporary works procedures and compliance
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Relevant construction or engineering qualifications preferred
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
