Overview In this role you support the delivery of on-site projects for a mid-sized Main Contractor in design and build and traditional delivery. You collaborate with the Project Manager/Director to plan, programme and meet project requirements while upholding safety, quality and budget targets. You manage site teams, supervise subcontractors, and maintain client relationships to ensure satisfaction. The position offers exposure to multiple sectors and project types, with a focus on proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities - Plan the project with PM/Director ensuring requirements, drawings, and safety proposals are agreed and a programme is in place
- Promote and maintain high health, safety and environmental standards
- Day-to-day on-site management, supervising site management and subcontractors
- Oversee site operatives: inductions, toolbox talks, quality control, method statements, cleanliness, PPE, waste reduction
- Manage client relationships to ensure satisfaction
- Review performance against targets, identify and manage risks and opportunities
- Proactively resolve technical difficulties and report to PM and Contracts Director
- Establish and maintain storage for materials, plant and tools; manage stock to meet deadlines and budget
- Manage project handover and ensure defect/snag-free completion
- Share best practice and drive continuous improvements
Key requirements - Degree or HND in a construction related discipline with 3+ years relevant experience OR 5 years in similar site management on projects 10m+
- Sound knowledge of building regulations, legislation and Health and Safety
- Knowledge of CDM regulations
- Current CSR/CSCS Card – preferably management level
- First aider desirable
