Overview In this Technical Project Manager role, you will lead the engineering delivery for a major rail infrastructure programme, focusing on the OCS scope. You will work with senior engineering and project leadership to coordinate multidisciplinary activities and align engineering with programme and contractual objectives. You will identify technical risks, manage interfaces, and monitor progress to executives. The role offers the chance to influence safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a large-scale rail project. You will be a key interface across Engineering, PMO, Commercial, Construction and Project Controls, shaping outcomes in a complex environment.
Responsibilities - Coordinate and integrate multidisciplinary engineering activities across the project
- Support delivery of engineering design packages aligned with objectives and milestones
- Identify and manage technical risks, opportunities, and delivery constraints
- Facilitate engineering reviews, workshops, and stakeholder meetings
- Monitor engineering progress and report to senior management
- Support project governance, controls, and performance monitoring
- Assist with NEC contract administration (EWNs and CEs)
- Assess engineering changes and their programme, cost, and contractual impacts
- Act as interface between Engineering, PMO, Commercial, Construction, and Project Controls
- Promote safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Key requirements - Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Systems Engineering or related discipline
- Experience delivering engineering projects in rail, transport, or major infrastructure
- Strong project management experience supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Understanding of design, systems integration, and interface management
