Overview In this role, you will lead the project controls framework for a major rail programme in London, guiding planning, cost, risk, change and reporting to drive delivery performance. You will work within the Mobility team to support a portfolio of rail projects, coordinating with clients and delivery partners to ensure successful outcomes. Expect to mentor cross-functional controls teams and contribute to governance and assurance activities. Responsibilities - Lead implementation and continuous improvement of project controls and PMO frameworks across major rail projects
- Oversee performance across schedule, cost, risk, change and reporting functions
- Develop and maintain controls processes to support informed decision-making and project outcomes
- Manage and mentor project controls teams to foster a collaborative, high-performing environment
- Support programme governance activities and provide assurance across delivery teams
- Produce and present accurate performance reporting to senior stakeholders
- Drive consistency and best practice across planning, risk, cost and change management
- Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and delivery partners
- Support resource planning, recruitment and capability development within project controls
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across controls processes and tools
Key requirements - Significant experience in a Project Controls Management role within major infrastructure or rail programmes
- Strong knowledge of planning, cost management, risk management, change control and performance reporting
- Experience leading project controls teams in complex, client-facing environments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong commercial and financial awareness
- Experience influencing senior leaders and driving improved project performance
- Collaborative approach with ability to coach and develop others
- Understanding of sustainability and carbon considerations in infrastructure delivery
- Membership of a professional body (APM, RICS, ICE, CIOB or similar)
- Experience in major rail or transportation programmes
- Experience supporting complex public sector or regulated infrastructure environments
