Overview In this role, you will lead complex energy infrastructure projects, ensuring delivery on time, cost and quality within a regulated environment. You’ll collaborate with clients, design teams and contractors to manage scope, risk and safety across the project lifecycle. The position sits in our Leeds office with UK travel, contributing to transformative, sustainable projects in electricity transmission. You’ll shape robust designs and delivery programmes, applying governance and stakeholder engagement to achieve agreed outcomes.
Responsibilities - Manage programme, budget and risks across the project lifecycle
- Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental legislation and CDM regulations
- Develop projects in early lifecycle phases, including optioneering and consenting
- Lead design stage reviews focusing on SHESQ, deliverability, and safety performance
- Support tendering and contracting strategies with procurement and commercial teams
- Oversee project delivery, commissioning, scheme closure and post-completion requirements
- Coordinate contractors and project teams across interfaces to deliver on time, cost and specification
- Manage complex third-party issues, including land, consents and stakeholders
- Chair monthly progress and cost review meetings and attend site meetings
- Provide clear direction, coaching and development to team members
- Persuade and influence stakeholders to achieve aligned outcomes
- Present information clearly to diverse audiences
- Act as primary interface between project and internal/external teams to maintain relationships
Key requirements - Experience in electrical infrastructure projects
- Experience with relevant legislation for complex projects
- Strong HS&E management systems knowledge
- Experience in environmental management and controls
- Understanding of technical documentation
- Experience with NEC contracts in project delivery
- Knowledge of risk management for schedule and cost
