Overview As an Employers Agent/Project Manager at a growing construction consultancy, you will oversee developments from inception to completion for residential, public sector and regeneration projects. You’ll work in a small team with direct reporting to the Delivery Director, liaising with RSLs, Local Authorities and other clients to deliver development-focused services. Expect exposure to pre- and post-contract activities, stakeholder coordination and ensuring timely, value-driven delivery. Responsibilities - Liaise with clients, contractors and developers to drive project delivery
- Lead project management activities and coordinate other consultants on behalf of the client
- Manage pre-contract tasks: due diligence, sustainability considerations, Prepare Employer's Requirements and Performance Specifications
- Draft and amend contracts (including Build Agreements and JCT contracts) and manage tendering processes
- Chair site and pre-contract meetings; issue minutes and follow up with relevant parties
- Monitor cashflow, issue invoices and manage client funding/development controls
- Oversee post-contract activities: site inspections, issue instructions/certificates/notices, assess payment applications and forecast cashflow
- Coordinate overall project delivery and ensure timely handover and final accounts
- Organise pre-handover and end-of-defects inspections, record readings, issue certificates/notices
- Prepare final accounts and statements; support claims where applicable
- Report regularly on project status and update fee projections
Key requirements - Minimum 2 years PQE in residential/public sector/mixed-use/regeneration/land-led projects
- Experience liaising with clients, contractors and developers
- Ability to manage pre- and post-contract activities and coordinate multiple stakeholders
- Knowledge of contract documents, tendering, EU procurement analysis and invoicing processes
- Experience with JCT contracts and related construction administration
