Overview In this role you deliver multi-disciplinary environmental projects and support Senior Project Managers and Technical Leads to keep work safe, on track, and within budget. You’ll gain exposure to a varied UK portfolio across public and private sectors, with opportunities to own smaller projects while assisting larger programmes. You’ll mentor colleagues and help shape our Environmental Project Management capability, progressing toward a Senior Environmental Project Manager role. You’ll work in a collaborative team that values development, impact, and delivering sustainable outcomes.

Responsibilities - Support development of project proposals, defining scope, resources, and budgets for delivery
- Create and maintain project documentation (plans, cost forecasts, risk registers, schedules) and take ownership on smaller projects while aiding senior managers
- Monitor progress to ensure delivery against timelines and control project costs (time, budgets, spend)
- Manage health and safety requirements for site visits and secure internal approvals
- Support contract management and administration to keep projects compliant
- Proactively manage change and risk with technical teams to stay within scope and governance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and develop relationships with partners and suppliers
- Champion environmental outcomes, contributing to sustainability and net zero ambitions across projects
- Represent the Environment and Consents team and act as a trusted point of contact with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders
- Contribute to team development and share knowledge to drive capability across the PMO and project teams
Key requirements - Experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in a project or PMO within environmental or sustainability sectors
- Good understanding of programme management principles (work breakdown structures, dependencies, critical path) and ability to interpret MS Project/Primavera P6 outputs
- Commercial awareness with budget management and change control; experience delivering projects within budget
- Familiarity with Professional Services Contracts (e.g. NEC3/4) is advantageous
- Confident written and verbal communicator to keep teams and stakeholders informed
- Working towards or holding membership of a professional body (e.g. PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS) with chartership welcomed
- Interest in environment/sustainable development and a proactive approach to career growth
