Project Manager (Residential Landscape, Hardscape, and Pool Install)
Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Project Manager to oversee residential hardscape, landscape, and pool installation projects from planning through completion. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on residential construction experience who excels at scheduling, communication, and execution. The right candidate will manage multiple masonry teams, work closely with subcontractors, and ensure an exceptional customer experience for homeowners.
This position offers growth potential, with the opportunity to move into an Estimator role over time. Our client is open to training the right Project Manager who brings strong residential experience, planning ability, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
- Manage 6–8 active residential projects at a time, including 2 primary projects
- Oversee project values ranging from approximately $25K to $300K+
- Plan, schedule, and close projects efficiently while maintaining quality standards
- Coordinate daily and long-term schedules for masonry, pool, and landscape projects
- Ensure projects stay on schedule, within scope, and aligned with company standards
Team & Subcontractor Management
- Manage two masonry teams per Project Manager (3–6 subcontract masons per team)
- Coordinate subcontracted trades including masons, electricians, carpenters, and related specialists
- Work closely with support teams handling machinery, materials, and site logistics
- Conduct daily logistics planning meetings in the office (starting at 7:30 AM), then head to job sites by 8:30–9:00 AM
- Spend the majority of the day in the field supporting crews and overseeing work
Client & Customer Experience
- Serve as the primary point of contact for homeowners throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and customer care on residential job sites
- Manage homeowner expectations, communication, and issue resolution
- Oversee billing coordination and ensure clear financial communication with clients
- Navigate challenges specific to residential homeowners (not track builders)
Systems & Documentation
- Utilize Buildertrend for project tracking and communication (experience preferred, not required)
- Review project documentation, schedules, and updates to ensure accuracy
- SketchUp experience is a plus but not required
Collaboration & Growth
- Collaborate with design and build teams on pool builds, hardscapes, and landscape installations
- Contribute to process improvements and operational efficiency
- Opportunity to grow into an Estimator role based on performance and interest

- Approximately 95% residential projects

- Landscape installations and softscapes
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience managing residential construction projects (required)
- Strong background working directly with homeowners
- Experience with pools, hardscapes, masonry, or landscape installation preferred
- Proven ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable managing subcontracted crews (no in-house field crews)
- Detail-oriented with a customer-first mindset
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 – $90,000 , based on experience
