Hays is exclusively partnered with a fast-growing and highly respected commercial real estate advisory and owner's representation firm seeking an Owner's Representative / Project Manager to join its expanding team in Richmond, Virginia. Open to current General Contractor APMs looking to move into a Project Manager role, or Project Manager seeking a new career challenge and continued growth.
With a strong reputation for delivering exceptional client outcomes and several recently awarded projects, the company is continuing to invest in its project management division. This is an outstanding opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys both real estate and project management and is looking to transition from a general contractor environment into a client-facing advisory role.
As an Owner's Representative , you will serve as the trusted advisor to clients throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initial planning and due diligence through construction, closeout, and occupancy. You'll work directly with clients, brokers, architects, engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standard.
Projects are primarily focused on interior construction and renovations across a diverse portfolio that includes:
- Commercial Office
- Government & Federal
- Mission Critical facilities
This role offers the opportunity to gain exposure to multiple projects simultaneously while working closely with a highly experienced and collaborative team.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 3+ years of experience working for a General Contractor or Construction Management firm, managing your own projects.
- Candidates currently in Preconstruction, Estimating, or Project Engineering roles who are interested in moving into a client-side project management position are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong understanding of interior fit-out, renovation, and tenant improvement construction.
- Experience within commercial office, government, mission critical, retail, or similar construction sectors.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically 4-5 active assignments at various stages.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, brokers, contractors, subcontractors, architects, and engineers.
- Based in Richmond, VA, with a daily office presence alongside an established team.
- Willingness to travel periodically across the United States as project needs require.
