Head of Programming
Location: Hybrid in Culver City, CA
Duration: 12 months
Pay: ~ $98/hour, DOE
The Planet Group is looking for a Head of Programming to join our well-known Fortune 500 client on a 12-month contract. This role will be 40 hours a week and is hybrid in Culver City, CA.
Head of Programming Responsibilities:
- Build a regional and geo-wide programming strategy that delivers culturally relevant in-store and/or virtual and digital content across all formats including group reservations and client-led programming in addition to high profile sessions
- Lead programming for a market/region that delivers on geo-wide goals and priorities, identifies talent that matches the client's values and brings products and services to life
- Work with local store teams and cross-functionally within Retail on impactful events
- Lead the strategic plan for pan-geo initiatives tied to business priorities and key initiatives, collaborating with WW partners, stakeholders and field leaders
- Strategic plan includes the operational roadmap to deliver on the initiatives in partnership with the regional Heads of Programing and Programing Producer on delivery
- Maintain a strong understanding of the business to lead and curate on country/market level to deliver culturally relevant and strategic in-store and/or virtual content across all formats
- Partner with teams including field leadership to identify new opportunities
- Initiate, receive and write briefs, ensuring that each opportunity is aligned with clear business objectives that contribute to the retail proposition of the client, and built within a clear strategic framework, working with other cross functional teams as needed
- Use data and measurement tools to enable tracking and reporting on program results, challenges, and opportunities
- Track, report, and share insights on program results, challenges, and opportunities
Head of Programming Qualifications:
- Creative and highly strategic in the development of content experiences and programs that build and engage audiences, deliver against business and marketing objectives, and deliver demonstrable value
- Significant experience in managing high profile events and partnerships, including broadcast events, series content/formats, virtual events/content experiences, experiential and live
- Demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of an organization, whether with a peer or senior/exec level leadership through crisp, data-driven, strategic briefs
- Well connected within the cultural and creative industry in their regional market with the ability to discover, recommend, and source talent
- Ability to manage multiple cross-functional teams including but not limited to: Programming, Production, Creative, Product Marketing, Public Relations, Store Operations, Internal Communications, Training, Merchandising, Finance, Online Store, Store Strategies, Publishing, Procurement, and Marcom
- Flexible project management style with agility to quickly adapt and effect change
- Ability to successfully navigate and implement multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
- Strong presentation skills including experience presenting to large audiences
- Discreet and professional with excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication and networking skills
