About the Role
Our client, a rapidly growing developer of renewable energy infrastructure, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Renewable Energy Project Manager to join their team in Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This critical role involves overseeing the full lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from initial site assessment and development through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for managing budgets, timelines, resources, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful project delivery. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of renewable technologies such as wind, solar, and battery storage, coupled with robust project management expertise. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute significantly to Scotland's green energy transition. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of multiple renewable energy projects simultaneously.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments for potential renewable energy developments.
- Oversee the procurement process, including contractor selection and contract negotiation.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, local authorities, investors, and regulatory bodies.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing proactive solutions.
- Monitor project progress, providing regular status reports to senior management.
- Liaise with engineering and construction teams to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure compliance with all environmental regulations and permitting requirements in Scotland .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Project Management, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management within the renewable energy sector.
- Demonstrable experience managing wind, solar, or battery storage projects from conception to completion.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Excellent knowledge of renewable energy technologies and the regulatory landscape in the UK , particularly Scotland .
- Proven ability to manage complex budgets and project schedules effectively.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and managing diverse project teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a hybrid working model.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
