About the Role
Our client, a leading developer of renewable energy projects, is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Remote Solar PV Project Manager to spearhead the planning, execution, and delivery of solar photovoltaic projects across the UK. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage projects from anywhere within the country. You will be responsible for overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and site selection through to construction, commissioning, and handover. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in solar PV technology, excellent project management skills, and a proven ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects. This role requires exceptional organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to drive projects to successful completion while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and environmental compliance, all within a remote work framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of solar PV projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Oversee site assessments, feasibility studies, and due diligence processes for potential project locations.
- Coordinate and manage external contractors, consultants, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, permitting requirements, and grid connection agreements.
- Develop and implement robust risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential project challenges.
- Liaise with stakeholders, including investors, local authorities, grid operators, and community representatives.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations from the plan, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Prepare regular progress reports and presentations for senior management and project stakeholders.
- Champion a strong safety culture and ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental standards on project sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Project Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with a significant focus on renewable energy projects, particularly solar PV.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale solar PV projects from inception to completion.
- Strong understanding of solar PV technology, system design, grid integration, and relevant industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and remote collaboration tools.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritise effectively in a remote environment.
- Experience with contract management, procurement, and financial oversight of projects.
- Knowledge of planning regulations and environmental impact assessments in the UK.
- PMP or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
