About the Role
Our client, a rapidly growing aerospace technology firm, is seeking an accomplished Aerospace Project Manager to lead critical development and production programs in
Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, UK . This role is central to coordinating complex projects, ensuring timely delivery, and managing resources effectively. You will interface with diverse engineering disciplines, manufacturing teams, clients, and stakeholders to drive project success from conception through to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, a deep understanding of project management methodologies, and a solid background in the aerospace or a related engineering industry. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of aerospace projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
- Manage project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication among all members.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with cross-functional departments, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain.
- Manage client relationships and communicate project status, updates, and deliverables effectively.
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
- Oversee the management of project documentation, including reports, change orders, and technical specifications.
- Conduct post-project reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future project execution.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of project management processes and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical) or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing industries.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Solid understanding of aerospace engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Experience with risk management and change control processes.
- Proficiency in financial management and budget control for projects.
