About the Role
Our client is seeking an accomplished Lead Aviation Project Manager to oversee critical projects within their dynamic aerospace division, based in Derby . This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site strategic planning and remote execution support. You will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of complex aviation projects from inception to completion, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively. Your leadership will be key in driving project success, fostering collaboration among diverse teams, and ensuring all objectives align with the company's strategic goals and the highest aviation industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of multiple aviation projects, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget management, and risk assessment.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, ensuring seamless project progress.
- Monitor project performance, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies in a timely manner.
- Communicate project status, updates, and critical decisions to senior management, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, adhering to strict aviation regulations .
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; PMP certification is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years specifically within the aerospace or aviation sector .
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects with significant budgets and cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to effectively manage responsibilities in a hybrid work setting, balancing remote and on-site requirements.
