About the Role
Our client, a leading innovator in the Fintech sector, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Project Manager to join their team in Glasgow . This role operates on a hybrid model, blending office-based collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of complex software development projects, from concept to launch, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of software development lifecycles, agile methodologies, and the unique challenges and opportunities within the financial technology landscape. This position requires exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to guide multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of high-impact software projects within the Fintech domain.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements in collaboration with product owners and stakeholders.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships.
- Facilitate agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate project risks and issues.
- Ensure clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders, including technical teams, business units, and senior management.
- Track project progress, performance metrics, and key milestones, providing regular status reports.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment, promoting agile principles.
- Ensure adherence to software development best practices, security standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee the release management process and support post-launch activities.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in software project management, with a significant portion in the Fintech industry.
- Proven experience managing complex, full-lifecycle software development projects.
- Strong understanding of Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall methodologies.
- Excellent knowledge of software development principles and technologies.
- Exceptional leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with financial regulations and compliance (e.g., GDPR, KYC) is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, MS Project).
