About the Role
Our client is a leading specialist in high-end commercial fit-out projects and is seeking an accomplished MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Project Manager for their operations in
Brighton, East Sussex . This role is vital for the successful execution of complex MEP systems within commercial environments. You will be responsible for the planning, management, and delivery of all MEP aspects of fit-out projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in MEP engineering, coupled with excellent project management and leadership skills. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end delivery of MEP packages for commercial fit-out projects.
- Develop detailed MEP project plans, including scope, budget, and schedule.
- Oversee the procurement of MEP equipment and services.
- Coordinate and manage M&E subcontractors, ensuring performance and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building regulations, standards, and health and safety legislation.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Conduct regular site inspections and quality control checks.
- Manage project finances, including cost control, valuations, and final accounts for MEP works.
- Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, site teams, and senior management.
- Review MEP designs and specifications for constructability and value engineering.
- Ensure all MEP installations are tested, commissioned, and handed over successfully.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience as an MEP Project Manager or in a senior MEP coordination role on commercial fit-out projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets and schedules effectively.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety requirements for MEP works.
- Experience with contract administration and managing subcontractors.
- Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit MEP, project management software).
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
