About the Role
Our client, a leader in deploying advanced communication networks, is seeking an experienced Telecommunications Project Manager for a challenging contract role. This position is fully remote, allowing you to manage projects from anywhere within the **Plymouth, Devon, UK** area and beyond. You will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of diverse telecommunications projects, from network upgrades to new infrastructure deployments. This requires strong leadership, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of project management methodologies within the telecom sector. The ideal candidate will manage project scope, timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring successful outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction. You will liaunt with engineering teams, vendors, clients, and regulatory bodies, navigating complex project landscapes. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of telecommunications projects, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Define project scope, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate and lead project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication channels.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
- Track project progress, milestones, and deliverables, providing regular status reports to stakeholders.
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure contract compliance.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Facilitate effective communication and problem-solving among project stakeholders.
- Conduct post-project evaluations and identify lessons learned for future projects.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Project Manager, specifically within the telecommunications industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing complex projects involving network infrastructure, fiber optics, or wireless deployments.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- Experience with risk assessment and mitigation planning.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical specifications and project requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects concurrently in a remote environment.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
