About the Role
Our client, a key player in the renewable energy sector, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to join their team in
Glasgow, Scotland, UK . This role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of projects focused on developing and implementing sustainable energy solutions. You will be responsible for overseeing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, ideally within the energy or utilities industry, and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. This hybrid role offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility, allowing for effective project oversight and work-life balance. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, execution, and closure of energy sector projects, including renewable energy installations and infrastructure upgrades.
- Develop detailed project plans, define project scope, set timelines, and manage budgets effectively.
- Lead and coordinate project teams, including engineers, technicians, and contractors, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, ensuring minimal impact on project delivery.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, regulatory bodies, and community representatives.
- Ensure projects comply with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and industry regulations.
- Monitor project progress, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular status reports to senior management.
- Manage contract negotiations and supplier performance.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management practices within the energy sector context.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably within the energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with budgets typically ranging from £2 million to £10 million.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- A degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Business Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies (e.g., solar, wind) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, balancing office and remote work.
- Must have the right to work in the UK .
