About the Role
Our client, a dynamic retail organisation based in the vibrant city of
Brighton, East Sussex, UK , is looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the development of their new e-commerce platform. This is a critical role that requires a blend of technical understanding, strong organisational skills, and a keen eye for user experience. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial requirements gathering and vendor selection through to development, testing, and final launch. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex web development projects, preferably within the e-commerce space. This role is based in our

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end development and implementation of the e-commerce platform.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
- Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Coordinate the efforts of internal teams (e.g., marketing, design, IT) and external vendors/developers.
- Oversee the selection and integration of necessary third-party tools and services (e.g., payment gateways, analytics).
- Ensure the platform meets user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) best practices.
- Manage project risks and issues, implementing timely mitigation strategies.
- Conduct thorough testing phases (UAT, performance testing) and ensure quality assurance.
- Communicate project progress and key decisions to stakeholders effectively.
- Facilitate post-launch monitoring and gather feedback for future enhancements.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing e-commerce platform development projects from inception to launch.
- Strong understanding of web development technologies, e-commerce architectures, and digital marketing principles.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile is preferred).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external vendors.
- Ability to manage project budgets and resources effectively.
- Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and best practices.
- A portfolio showcasing successful e-commerce projects is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent industry experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience.
