About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a specialized background in marine engineering to oversee key projects in Plymouth . This role requires a leader capable of managing complex technical projects within the maritime industry, ensuring adherence to stringent safety and quality standards. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from planning and design through to execution and delivery, working closely with engineers, naval architects, and external partners to deliver innovative and critical marine solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of marine engineering projects, ensuring successful delivery on time and within budget.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedules, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering teams, designers, and technical specialists to ensure technical integrity and compliance.
- Oversee procurement processes, contract negotiations, and the management of marine equipment suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure strict adherence to maritime regulations, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, regulatory bodies, and internal management, providing regular project updates.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with a strong emphasis on marine engineering projects or shipbuilding.
- Proven experience in managing technically complex projects with significant engineering components.
- In-depth knowledge of marine systems, naval architecture principles, and relevant industry regulations.
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- A degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field is essential.
