About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to oversee significant capital projects within their organisation, based in Bristol . This critical role involves managing the full lifecycle of major construction, infrastructure, or facility development projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. You will collaborate with a wide range of internal teams, external contractors, consultants, and regulatory bodies. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale capital expenditure projects, strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of construction project management principles and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, procurement, and execution of large-scale capital projects .
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation.
- Oversee contractor and vendor performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations and quality standards.
- Manage project risks, issues, and changes, implementing mitigation strategies effectively.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, environmental, and building regulations.
- Provide regular progress reports and presentations to senior management and project stakeholders.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in project management , specifically managing large-scale capital or construction projects.
- Proven experience in budgeting, contract negotiation, and procurement for significant projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across diverse groups.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, RICS, or equivalent are highly desirable.
