About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager with a background in construction to join their organisation. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to manage projects from your home base while overseeing significant construction developments. You will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, and completion of major construction projects, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and budget standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of construction methodologies, supply chain management, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects, from initial feasibility studies and design through to construction, handover, and closeout.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies specific to construction projects.
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor performance, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations on construction sites.
- Conduct regular site visits (as necessary and feasible within a remote context, or delegate effectively) and project progress meetings.
- Manage project finances, including budget tracking, cost control, and invoice approvals.
Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction project management, with a strong portfolio of successfully delivered projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction techniques, materials, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
- Proven ability to manage budgets exceeding £10 million.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, capable of managing remote teams and diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with construction management software and standard industry practices.
- Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
