Overview As a Senior Project Controls Manager, you will lead cross‑discipline controls on high‑risk, high‑complexity projects within our defence portfolio. You will shape the project scope, establish robust performance baselines, and govern change control to drive on‑time, within‑budget delivery. You will integrate scope, cost, risk and schedule with stakeholders, mentor teams, and foster continuous improvement. Responsibilities - Set up and lead cross-discipline Project Controls teams on high value programmes
- Define scope with exclusions, assumptions, interfaces and dependencies to enable WBS
- Establish Performance Measurement Baseline and manage change control
- Collaborate with suppliers to integrate and analyse performance data per contractual requirements
- Ensure integration of scope, cost, risk and schedule; analyse Earned Value Management
- Coordinate with Finance to produce Cost and Cash TOC and Estimate At Complete profiles
- Oversee risk management through quantitative analysis and treatment
- Support deployment of resources aligned with resource-loaded schedules
- Establish governance for auditable decision making
- Mentor and develop team members; drive learning and capability improvements
- Contribute to regional growth via proposals, pursuit planning, recruitment and succession planning
- Oversee running of a Project Controls Function and embed standards and processes
Key requirements - Proven track record delivering projects in defence or infrastructure in highly regulated sectors
- Experience across the whole Project lifecycle in Project Controls
- Experience in two or more disciplines: Planning and Scheduling, Cost Estimation, Cost Control, Risk Management or Performance Reporting with relevant software/tools
- Experience in establishing Project Controls organisations and building teams
- Advanced understanding of Integrated Project Controls across operating models
- Ability to assess organisational maturity and new ways of working
- Proactive, curious, can-do attitude; comfortable in uncertain environments
- Strong communication and leadership with ability to influence, coach, and develop teams in diverse and inclusive environments
- Bachelor in a relevant technical or management field or suitable equivalent
- Member of a professional body (e.g. APM, PMI)
