Overview In this role you will lead the delivery of major water infrastructure projects across the South West, overseeing pipelines, shafts, tunnelling and underground works. You will coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget execution within long-term water framework programmes. You shape construction strategies and methodologies, driving performance and client satisfaction in a dynamic, safety-focused environment. Responsibilities - Lead planning and delivery of complex civil projects from pre-construction to completion
- Manage pipelines, shaft sinking, tunnelling and underground works
- Ensure safe delivery, on programme and within budget
- Coordinate site teams, engineers, subcontractors and specialist contractors
- Develop construction methodologies, sequencing plans and delivery strategies
- Monitor programme performance and implement recovery plans
- Maintain client and stakeholder relationships
- Collaborate with commercial teams on cost control, forecasting and change management
- Ensure NEC contract compliance, quality standards and safety
- Identify and manage project risks and opportunities
- Chair project progress meetings, site reviews and client meetings
- Provide leadership and development for project team members
Key requirements - Proven experience delivering civil infrastructure projects as Project Manager or Senior Project Manager
- Strong experience with pipeline installation, shaft sinking, tunnelling or underground structures
- Experience in the water or utilities sector
- Solid understanding of deep excavation and underground construction methodologies
- Experience managing projects under NEC contracts
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong commercial awareness and collaboration with commercial teams
