Overview In this role you will lead asset management and lifecycle projects within a large UK facilities management organisation, focusing on healthcare and education sites in the Birmingham area. You will bridge technical delivery and client/risk requirements, shaping lifecycle works and variation projects while coordinating internal teams and external FM suppliers. The position offers exposure to M&E systems, building fabric, and regulatory standards, with a clear impact on asset performance and budget control.

Responsibilities - Lead on asset management and lifecycle plans for healthcare and education sites in the Birmingham region
- Deliver project scope for lifecycle works and variations, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards
- Provide technical leadership on building infrastructure, M&E systems, and interface with FM suppliers
- Identify assets needing replacement within 5-year lifecycle plans in collaboration with internal teams
- Advise on best practice compliance (BS standards, SFG20, HTM guidance) and support local teams with scope of works
- Monitor notifications and engage with internal departments (Commercial, Central Lifecycle) to drive timely delivery
Key requirements - Time-served technical background in electrical, mechanical or building services
- Budgetary control and commercial awareness
- HNC or equivalent in engineering discipline
- NEBOSH or IOSH accreditation and SMSTS
- Understanding of DoH regulatory issues and ISO 15001
- Able to travel to meet role needs
- DBS Enhanced with Barred Lists check (essential)
- Degree level education desirable
- Asset Management Diploma desirable
- Experience with complex operational PFI contracts desirable
