Overview In this role you will lead large, multinational payroll and workforce management programmes, guiding cross-functional teams through complex transformations. You’ll shape project delivery, governance, and stakeholder engagement to drive payroll improvements for UK and global clients. You’ll work with HR, IT, and finance stakeholders to implement technology solutions and optimise payroll processes, while developing a high-performance, diverse team. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on project management in a collaborative, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities - Define scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines and resources for multi-jurisdictional implementations
- Lead day-to-day project activities and ensure timely delivery
- Create and maintain project plans and communicate actions to teams
- Design stakeholder communication plans and manage forums and reporting
- Maintain project governance: notes, decisions, actions, and minutes
- Engage with client teams, external advisors and third-party providers
- Manage budgets and provide cost analysis for leadership
- Record risks/issues/progress and manage change across processes and systems
- Keep abreast of trends and best practices in payroll technology and project management
- Collaborate with other Deloitte offices and teams to pursue opportunities
- Contribute to an inclusive, high-performing team culture
- Lead and coach teams across geographies
- Work with third-party payroll vendors
Key requirements - Experience managing large-scale, global transformation programmes
- Understanding of payroll, workforce management and/or HR technologies
- Knowledge of payroll processes and terminology
- Experience with blended onshore/offshore teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to build strong client relationships and deliver tailored solutions
- High-level understanding of payroll business processes
- Experience with advisory projects including scoping, contracting, billing and cash collection
- Experience working with multiple client stakeholders across industries on UK/global basis
- Effective prioritisation and organisational skills to lead multiple workstreams
- Strong teamwork and coaching abilities across geographies
- Experience with third-party vendors in payroll
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Experience delivering client proposals and securing new projects
- Desirable: Prince2; Dayforce/UKG familiarity
