The organization is expanding its presence in the Greater New York market and is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee commercial projects while supporting strong customer relationships and continued account growth.
Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager to manage commercial equipment projects from contract award through installation and completion. This role combines hands-on project management with a commercial focus, working directly with contractors, consultants, architects, customers, and internal teams to ensure projects are executed successfully and profitably. The ideal candidate understands construction environments, can interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts, and is comfortable managing both project execution and the customer relationship.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage projects from contract award and planning through procurement, installation, closeout, and final completion.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, submittals, schedules, and project requirements.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for general contractors, consultants, architects, customers, installers, vendors, and internal teams.
- Coordinate project schedules, equipment, materials, deliveries, installation crews, and site readiness.
- Monitor scope, costs, timelines, change orders, billing, and contract requirements to maintain project profitability.
- Identify scope additions, customer needs, and other opportunities to expand existing projects and accounts.
- Assist with pricing, proposals, change orders, and contract-related discussions.
- Build strong contractor and customer relationships that support repeat business and future project opportunities.
- Resolve field issues, scope discrepancies, scheduling conflicts, and other project challenges.
- Manage multiple active projects while maintaining accurate documentation, deadlines, and customer expectations.
- Support project closeout, punch-list completion, final documentation, and customer acceptance.
Ideal Candidate
- 3–5 years of project management, contract sales, or commercial experience within commercial construction, commercial equipment, or a similar project-driven industry.
- Experience managing projects from award through installation and completion.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and submittals.
- Experience working with general contractors, consultants, architects, design teams, and other construction stakeholders.
- Understanding of project financials, including costs, margins, pricing, change orders, and profitability.
- Commercial mindset with the ability to build customer relationships, identify opportunities, and support account growth.
- Strong communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities across both field and office environments.
