Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm, and our Staffing practice is looking for a Sr Project Manager with experience working within a Financial Institution, to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.

Working Location: Hybrid, 2 days a week, downtown Toronto.
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Senior Business Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact initiatives within our Banking Products portfolio. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong business acumen, exceptional communication skills, and proven experience delivering large-scale projects end-to-end.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Delivery: Manage the full project lifecycle from initiation to implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with executives and cross-functional teams, building strong relationships to drive project success.
- Complex Initiatives: Lead and deliver a minimum of 20 complex projects, each with budgets exceeding $5 million.
- Financial Oversight: Develop, monitor, and manage project budgets, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to financial targets.
- Risk & Issue Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate risks to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
- Governance & Reporting: Provide clear, concise updates to senior leadership and maintain compliance with PMO standards.
- Cards Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of credit/debit card products and related systems to guide project decisions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years as a Business Project Manager in financial services or banking.
- Delivery Expertise: Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex projects with budgets of $5M+.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence and present to executives.
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of card products and associated business processes.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field;
