Senior Project Manager
Apex Systems is a Global IT Services Firm, and our Staffing practice is looking for a Sr Project Manger with experience working within a Financial Institution, to place at our client, a Big Five Bank. You will be joining a highly collaborative, fast paced and high performing team.
Client: Big Five Bank
Length of Contract: 6 months, with possibility to extend
Working Location: Hybrid, 1 day a week, downtown Toronto.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager with strong banking experience to lead a high-impact application migration project. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and can balance strategic oversight with hands-on technical involvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the migration of 20–30 applications from Informatica to Databricks within strict timelines.
- Oversee application development projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a busy, dynamic environment to ensure project milestones are met.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring clarity and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage risks, dependencies, and escalations in a stressful environment while maintaining focus on delivery.
Required Skills & Experience
- Banking industry experience
- Proven track record in large-scale application migration projects.
- Strong understanding of Informatica, Databricks, and related data integration technologies.
- Hands-on experience with application development and SDLC methodologies (Waterfall, Agile).
- Exceptional communication skills—able to convey complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment.
