About the Role
Our client, WhatJobs Direct, is seeking a diligent and proactive IT Project Manager to oversee critical infrastructure and security enhancement projects. This role is based in
Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK , offering a hybrid working arrangement that balances in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and finalising projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants. The IT Project Manager will also be responsible for defining the project's objectives and overseeing quality control throughout its life cycle. Key Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive project plans detailing project scope, goals, deliverables, required resources, budget, and scheduling.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Draft and submit budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
- Plan and schedule project timelines using appropriate tools.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating when necessary.
- Conduct project post-mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Requirements
- Proven working experience in IT project management, specifically within infrastructure and cybersecurity domains.
- Solid organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong familiarity with project management software and best practices.
- Understanding of IT infrastructure components (servers, networks, storage) and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience in managing budgets, timelines, and resources for complex IT projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with technical teams and senior management.
- Proficiency in risk management and change control processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Experience working in a hybrid work environment, demonstrating adaptability and collaboration.
