About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and organised Electrical Installation Project Manager to oversee a variety of electrical installation projects across different sectors. This hybrid role, based in Norwich, Norfolk , offers a blend of on-site supervision and office-based planning and administration. You will be responsible for managing projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards. This is a key position requiring strong leadership, technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams. You will play a vital role in the successful execution of complex electrical infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and close out electrical installation projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
- Coordinate and manage site activities, including resource allocation, work scheduling, and progress monitoring.
- Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure project requirements and compliance are met.
- Oversee site teams, including electricians and subcontractors, ensuring safe working practices and quality workmanship.
- Manage project documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, RFIs, and progress reports.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, implementing solutions to overcome challenges.
- Procure materials and manage subcontractors effectively.
- Ensure all electrical installations comply with relevant national and industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to verify work completion and standards.
- Manage project financials, including cost control, invoicing, and variations.
- Foster strong working relationships with all project participants.
Requirements
- Proven experience in managing electrical installation projects, preferably in sectors such as construction, industrial, or commercial.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, installations, and relevant regulations (e.g., BS 7671).
- Experience with project management methodologies and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical designs, schematics, and specifications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or Project Management.
- Certification such as Prince2 or PMP is a significant advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
