About the Role
Our client, a key player in the energy sector, is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure development projects. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects that enhance our energy network's capacity and reliability. You will be responsible for managing all project phases, from feasibility studies and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover, ensuring strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly within the energy or utilities sector, and possess excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of energy infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet strategic objectives.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budget control, and risk management.
- Oversee site activities, construction, and installation works, ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Manage relationships with contractors, suppliers, and other third-party stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and reporting to senior management and relevant stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions.
- Ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications and quality standards.
- Manage project finances, including forecasting, expenditure tracking, and cost reporting.
- Conduct post-project reviews and implement lessons learned to improve future project delivery.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of project management experience, with a focus on infrastructure projects, preferably within the energy, utilities, or related sectors.
- Proven track record of managing complex projects with significant budgets and challenging timelines.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction practices, and regulatory frameworks relevant to energy infrastructure.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and document management systems.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Civil, Mechanical), Construction Management, or a related technical field.
- Professional certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or NEBOSH is advantageous.
- Willingness to work within a Hybrid model, combining remote project oversight with necessary on-site presence in and around Derby .
