About the Role
Our client, a prominent player in the logistics and supply chain sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects based in their Portsmouth headquarters. This role requires a hands-on individual adept at managing large-scale IT infrastructure deployments, including hardware upgrades, network enhancements, and data center operations. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initial scoping and planning through to execution, monitoring, and successful closure. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex IT infrastructure projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Manage project risks and issues, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
- Oversee the procurement, installation, and configuration of IT hardware, software, and network components.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams, external vendors, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and provide regular project updates to senior management.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant IT security policies and industry regulations.
- Mentor and guide junior project team members.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure project management.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects involving hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile).
- Experience managing projects within the logistics or supply chain industry is a plus.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet).
- Ability to work effectively on-site in Portsmouth .
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or CompTIA Network+ are desirable.
