About the Role
Our client, a pioneering force in sustainable energy solutions, is actively seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the development and execution of large-scale energy storage projects. This critical role, based in
Cardiff, Wales, UK , will involve managing all phases of the project lifecycle, from initial feasibility studies and procurement to construction, commissioning, and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while adhering to all safety and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will possess a strong track record in project management, particularly within the

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end management of energy storage projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies.
- Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering effective collaboration and communication.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, contractors, suppliers, grid operators, and regulatory bodies.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout all project phases.
- Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiation, and supplier performance monitoring.
- Track project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure project success.
- Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management methodologies and processes within the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years of project management experience, with at least 3 years specifically managing projects in the energy, utility, or infrastructure sectors.
- Demonstrable experience managing energy storage projects (e.g., battery energy storage systems - BESS) is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and standard office applications.
- Strong understanding of project financials, contract management, and risk management principles.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Relevant professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or similar are advantageous.
- Knowledge of relevant UK regulations and grid connection processes within the energy sector .
