About the Role
Our client, a prominent real estate developer and infrastructure company, is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead significant development projects in
Derby, Derbyshire, UK . This is a critical role responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and planning through to construction, handover, and post-completion. You will oversee a diverse range of infrastructure projects, potentially including commercial developments, urban regeneration schemes, or utilities infrastructure. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management within the construction or civil engineering sectors, with a proven ability to manage complex budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relationships. You will lead project teams, coordinate with contractors and consultants, and ensure all projects meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure and development projects from inception to completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, feasibility studies, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring compliance with design specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Manage project finances, including cost estimation, budget control, and financial reporting.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, architects, site supervisors, and external contractors.
- Liaise effectively with clients, local authorities, utility providers, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive solutions.
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant planning permissions, building codes, and environmental legislation.
- Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and inspections to ensure project milestones are met.
- Prepare comprehensive project reports for senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 7 years of project management experience in infrastructure development or large-scale construction projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, project planning software, and relevant UK regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working within the Derbyshire region or similar development areas is advantageous.
- Professional qualifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Chartership with a relevant institution are highly desirable.
- Ability to manage projects in a hands-on, site-focused capacity.
