Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and closure of complex maritime technology projects.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, resource requirements, and risk assessments.
- Manage project teams comprised of engineers, technicians, and external partners, ensuring effective collaboration and performance.
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular, clear, and concise updates.
- Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions.
- Oversee the procurement and integration of hardware and software components.
- Ensure all projects adhere to stringent industry standards, quality requirements, and regulatory compliance within the maritime sector.
- Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations effectively.
- Conduct project reviews and post-mortem analyses to capture lessons learned and drive continuous improvement.
- Champion project management best practices and contribute to the enhancement of internal processes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Project Manager , with a significant focus on technology projects within the maritime or marine engineering industries.
- Demonstrated success in delivering complex technical projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of maritime operations, naval architecture, or related engineering disciplines.
- Experience with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and relevant software tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira).
- Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Maritime, Mechanical, Electrical), Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Experience working within the Hampshire region or with companies operating in the maritime sector is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel occasionally as required for project oversight and client meetings.
