About the Role
Our client, a significant entity in the utilities sector, is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to oversee a portfolio of high-value capital projects based in **Belfast**. This role is critical for the planning, execution, and successful completion of infrastructure upgrades and new build projects across Northern Ireland. You will be responsible for managing all project lifecycles, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, budget adherence, and timely delivery. This is a challenging role requiring strong leadership and stakeholder management skills. The position is offered on a **hybrid** basis, allowing for a blend of essential on-site presence and remote working flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budget, timelines, resource allocation, and risk assessments for capital projects.
- Manage project execution, ensuring all activities are completed in accordance with project plans and quality standards.
- Oversee procurement processes, contract management, and vendor performance.
- Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure seamless project progression.
- Monitor project performance, identify potential issues, and implement proactive solutions.
- Provide regular progress reports to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout all project phases.
- Manage project budgets effectively, tracking expenditures and forecasting costs.
- Conduct post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and implement improvements.
Requirements
- Significant experience in project management, specifically managing large-scale capital or infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and prioritize effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software and financial tracking tools.
- A relevant degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Experience working within a **hybrid** work model is advantageous.
- Willingness to travel within Northern Ireland as required for project oversight.
