About the Role
Our client, a globally recognized leader in the aerospace sector, is seeking an accomplished and strategic Aerospace Project Manager to lead high-impact projects from conception to completion in **Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, UK**. This role requires a proven ability to manage complex aerospace development programmes, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, as well as managing project teams, stakeholders, and resources effectively. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of aerospace engineering principles, extensive project management experience, and exceptional leadership and communication skills. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage aerospace projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, and resource requirements.
- Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective communication.
- Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies.
- Manage project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, performance, and challenges.
- Ensure compliance with relevant aerospace industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements.
- Oversee the procurement and management of project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
- Conduct project reviews, post-project evaluations, and lessons learned sessions.
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies.
- Manage project contracts and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Management, or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years focused on the aerospace or defence industry.
- Proven experience managing complex aerospace projects from initiation through to completion.
- Strong understanding of aerospace engineering principles, design, manufacturing, and certification processes.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is highly desirable.
- Must be eligible to work in the UK and potentially obtain security clearance.
