About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager with a specialization in Construction to join their innovative team in Southampton . This role is critical for leading and managing the full lifecycle of significant construction projects, from initial concept and planning through to successful completion and handover. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while fostering a collaborative environment among diverse project teams and stakeholders. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a seasoned construction project manager looking to make a substantial impact in the Southampton region.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale construction projects, overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, schedules, resource allocation, and risk management strategies specific to construction.
- Manage and coordinate all site activities, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure efficient progress.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations and standards on all project sites.
- Monitor project financials, control costs, and manage procurement processes to ensure projects remain within budgetary constraints.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies, providing regular project updates and reports.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (minimum 8 years) as a Project Manager within the construction industry, with a strong portfolio of delivered projects.
- In-depth knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, regulations, and health & safety legislation.
- Proven ability to manage large project budgets and complex schedules effectively.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS, CIOB, PMP) are highly advantageous.
- Ability to travel to various project sites within the Southampton area and occasional national travel as required.
