About the Role
Our client is looking for an experienced Chemical Engineering Project Manager to lead and deliver a portfolio of capital projects for their operations in Norwich, Norfolk, UK . This senior role requires a blend of technical expertise in chemical engineering and proven project management capabilities. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through to execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of assigned chemical engineering projects, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources.
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and cost estimates.
- Coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Oversee the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases of projects.
- Implement robust risk management strategies and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Report project progress to senior management and key stakeholders regularly.
Requirements
- Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Significant experience (8+ years) in project management, with a strong background in chemical process industries.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex capital projects from inception to completion.
- In-depth knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with relevant engineering codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
