About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead critical infrastructure projects in and around Derby . This role is essential for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of major infrastructure developments, ensuring they meet stringent quality, safety, and regulatory standards. You will work with a dedicated team of professionals, managing multiple concurrent projects and ensuring alignment with strategic organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of infrastructure project complexities, and a commitment to delivering projects that have a lasting positive impact on the community, working in a hybrid capacity that blends site engagement with office-based planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of complex infrastructure projects, from feasibility studies to completion and handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, budgets, schedules, and resource requirements.
- Oversee project execution, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and quality benchmarks.
- Manage and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the project duration.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions.
- Report on project progress, performance, and challenges to senior management and relevant authorities.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; chartered status (e.g., CEng, PMP, PRINCE2) is highly desirable.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in managing large-scale infrastructure projects .
- In-depth knowledge of construction, engineering, and project management best practices.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Proficiency in relevant project management software and tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid model, requiring regular site visits and office presence in Derby .
