About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead challenging engineering projects within their organisation in Sheffield . This role is responsible for the end-to-end management of complex engineering initiatives, ensuring they are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. You will work closely with design, manufacturing, and quality assurance teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet client requirements and business objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical acumen, exceptional leadership, and a meticulous approach to project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of complex engineering projects , from concept to commissioning.
- Oversee project scope, budget, schedule, and resource allocation, ensuring optimal utilisation.
- Lead and mentor project engineers and technical teams, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop effective mitigation strategies for technical and operational challenges.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, quality control procedures, and health and safety regulations .
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes.
Requirements
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in project management , with a significant focus on engineering projects.
- Proven experience managing projects in sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, or related engineering fields.
- Strong technical understanding of engineering principles, design processes, and manufacturing techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in engineering project management software and tools.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; PMP or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
