About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead significant infrastructure development projects in the Plymouth area. This role is crucial for overseeing the planning, execution, and successful delivery of key capital projects that enhance regional infrastructure and support economic growth. You will work with a dedicated team of engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects meet stringent quality, safety, and environmental standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing large-scale public or private infrastructure projects and demonstrate strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure development projects, from feasibility studies and planning through to construction and commissioning.
- Develop and manage detailed project plans , schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for multiple concurrent projects.
- Oversee contractor selection, negotiation, and performance management to ensure project objectives are met.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety , environmental, and regulatory compliance throughout all project phases.
- Manage stakeholder relationships, including local authorities, utility providers, and community representatives.
- Conduct regular site visits and project reviews to monitor progress, quality, and risk exposure.
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years' experience in infrastructure project management , with a focus on civil engineering or construction.
- Proven experience managing large-scale projects with budgets exceeding £15 million.
- Strong understanding of contract management, procurement, and risk assessment in construction environments.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence diverse stakeholder groups.
- Relevant degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
