About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Manager to oversee a range of exciting construction and development projects in the scenic coastal city of Plymouth . This role is crucial for managing projects from the initial planning stages through to successful completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and quality standards. You will work with a team of skilled professionals and external contractors to bring significant building and infrastructure projects to fruition, contributing to the ongoing development of the region. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle for construction and development projects in Plymouth , from conception and planning to execution and handover.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, resource allocation, budgeting, and scheduling, ensuring alignment with client requirements.
- Oversee and coordinate activities of contractors, subcontractors, architects, engineers, and other project personnel.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress meetings to monitor performance, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards throughout the project duration.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including contracts, change orders, progress reports, and financial records.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project management within the construction or property development sector.
- Demonstrated success in managing diverse construction projects, from residential developments to commercial buildings.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, building codes, and health & safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project or similar tools.
- A relevant degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred for this role in Devon .
