About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly organised and technically adept Senior Project Manager to lead their Research & Development projects in Oxford . This role is critical for managing the lifecycle of new product development, from initial concept and feasibility studies through to prototype development and market testing. You will work closely with scientists, engineers, and product specialists to bring innovative ideas to fruition. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically minded project leader to drive innovation in a globally recognised hub for research and technology in Oxfordshire .
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full project lifecycle for R&D initiatives, from ideation to successful project completion.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams comprising scientists, engineers, and external collaborators.
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and ensure financial targets are met.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and technical challenges.
- Communicate project progress, key findings, and challenges to senior management and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in project management , with a significant focus on Research & Development or product innovation.
- Strong technical background, preferably in a science or engineering discipline.
- Proven ability to manage complex R&D projects with tight deadlines and budget constraints.
- Experience with stage-gate processes and innovation management frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
