About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Project Manager to oversee diverse construction projects in the vibrant city of Aberdeen . You will be instrumental in driving projects from inception through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role offers the opportunity to lead a dedicated project team, manage stakeholder relationships, and contribute significantly to the successful execution of key infrastructure and development initiatives within the region, fostering a collaborative environment that values innovation and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire lifecycle of multiple construction projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closure.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, resource allocation, and budget management, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives for projects in Aberdeen .
- Oversee and coordinate all project activities, including design, procurement, construction, and handover phases, liaising with contractors, consultants, and suppliers.
- Conduct regular site visits and progress meetings to monitor project performance, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies proactively.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, environmental regulations, and quality control standards throughout all project phases.
- Manage project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for stakeholder communication and auditing purposes.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in project management , specifically within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale construction projects on time and within budget.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, building codes, and regulatory requirements relevant to projects in Scotland .
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholders effectively.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) and standard office applications.
- Relevant professional certification (e.g., PMP, Prince2) is highly desirable.
