About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager with a strong background in IT infrastructure to join their technology division in Manchester . This role is critical for overseeing the planning, execution, and deployment of significant IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, data centre migrations, and cloud implementations. You will manage cross-functional teams of technical experts, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT infrastructure challenges and a proven ability to navigate complex technical environments, driving successful outcomes for the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure projects , from initiation and planning through execution and closure.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for IT initiatives.
- Manage and mitigate risks associated with IT infrastructure deployments and upgrades.
- Coordinate with technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure seamless project integration.
- Monitor project performance, providing regular status reports and escalating issues as needed.
- Ensure compliance with IT security policies and industry regulations throughout project execution.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of project management experience, with a significant focus on IT infrastructure projects.
- Solid understanding of network technologies, server hardware, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity principles.
- Experience managing projects involving data centre consolidation, network rollouts, or cloud migrations.
- Proficiency in Agile and Waterfall methodologies relevant to IT project delivery.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP) are advantageous.
