Overview As a Project Controls Manager you will lead a multi-functional controls team on major UK construction programs, establishing realistic baselines and embedding controls to track progress, manage issues and mitigate slippage. You will work closely with the client’s Project Manager and supply chain to drive delivery and optimize cash flow, while guiding principal contractors and stakeholders. The role focuses on cost, schedule, risk, and change management to enable predictable project outcomes. Responsibilities - Embed a robust breakdown structure by consolidating data from controls functions
- Coordinate and lead estimating to establish a market-tested cost baseline
- Coordinate and lead planning to create an achievable master schedule baseline
- Understand procurement to prioritise ordering and meet install dates
- Manage risk processes with qualitative and quantitative assessments
- Maintain stakeholder visibility and sign-off on the baseline
- Embed an update process for schedule, interfaces, cost, risk, and changes
- Influence principal contractor and client to drive delivery and cash flow KPI’s
- Control costs via conceptual estimating, funding stages, contingencies, procurement principles
- Lead change management workflow for tracking and approving changes
- Identify deviations using lead/lag indicators and report remedial actions
Key requirements - Proven experience delivering Controls in a major project/programme environment
- Management of a multi-functional controls team
- Proficiency with Primavera (P6), Power BI, Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and start-up processes
- Knowledge of engineering and construction management
- Experience leading collaborative workshops
