Overview In this Senior Project Manager role, you will lead bid and delivery across Roke’s National Security portfolio, guiding projects from concept through completion within time, cost and quality targets. You will work with cross-functional teams to translate customer pain points into compelling bids and ensure successful delivery for high-profile UK and international customers. The role blends research, product development and software/solution delivery in a fast-paced, security-focused environment. You will build strong client, supplier and partner relationships and manage risks, resources and financial performance to drive repeat opportunities and growth.
Responsibilities - Deliver projects from concept to completion within contractual, time, quality and cost parameters
- Lead the preparation and execution of bids addressing customer requirements with account and technical teams
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and partners for collaborative delivery
- Manage project financials including forecasts, revenue, cash and profit using company tools
- Oversee project staffing, coordinate with Resourcing and client stakeholders
- Build and lead project teams with clear objectives and enable team achievement
- Fulfil PM responsibilities across project lifecycle from idea to closure
- Collaborate with technical teams to document assumptions, dependencies and maintain project plans
- Ensure requirements are captured, tracked and signed off in the designated tool
- Maintain a risk register with threats and opportunities and validate contingency costs
- Identify expansion opportunities with Account teams and deliver against them
Key requirements - Experience managing complex technical bids and projects, including early TRL research combining hardware and software
- Proficiency in both waterfall and agile delivery methodologies
- Excellent stakeholder management with business and technical customers, partners and internal stakeholders
- Strong business acumen in project delivery and relationship development
- Proactive, adaptive leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Strong appreciation of technology trends and engineering methods
- Flexibility to contribute across the business cycle to support team success
- Ability to operate in a deadline-focused environment
- APMP or PMP qualifications or equivalent experience
